Layered Strawberry Custard

Ingredients
12 med Cookies, ladyfingers, without lemon juice and rind 1/4 cup Jams and preserves 2 cup Strawberries, raw 1 scoop Cream, whipped, cream topping, pressurized 1 cup Soy milk, fluid 1 cup Water 4 large Egg, yolk, raw, fresh 1/2 cup Sugars, granulated 3 tbls Cornstarch 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
Directions
1. In a saucepan, warm the soy milk and water but do not boil. Beat the egg yolks in a large bowl and slowly add the sugar. Mix in the cornstarch. Slowly add the warm soy milk mixture to the bowl.
2. Return mixture to the pan and stir over low heat until custard thickens. Do not allow to boil. Remove from heat, cool, and add vanilla extract. Cool for 30 minutes.
3. Split the ladyfingers and spread with jam. arrange in a layer in a trifle bowl and spoon 1/3 of the fruit on top. Spoon half of the custard over the ladyfingers. Repeat with a layer of ladyfingers, fruit, and custard. Top with ladyfingers. Spread whipped cream over this. Garnish with fruit, if desired.
