Custard Pie with Apples

Ingredients
1 med Pie crust, standard-type, frozen, ready-to-bake, baked 1/4 cup Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, bleached 1 cup Sugars, brown 3 med Apples, raw, with skin 1 med Egg, whole, raw, fresh 1 1/2 cup Milk, fluid, 3.25% milkfat Diet
1/2 tsp Spices, cinnamon, ground 1/4 tsp Spices, nutmeg, ground
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450F.
2. Mix 2 tablespoon flour and 1/4 cup sugar, blending well and sprinkle evenly over bottom of the pie crust. Arrange the apple halves, cored-side up in the pie crust.
3. In a medium bowl, combine the egg and milk. Pour over the apples.
4. In a separate bowl, blend the remaining 2 tablespoon flour with the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle over the apple halves.
5. Bake at 450F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325F and bake for 30 minutes more, or until custard is firm and a knife inserted comes out clean.
