Turkey Strudel

Ingredients

  •  
  • 1 1/2 packageSpinach, raw
  • 2 1/2 cupTurkey, fryer-roasters, breast, meat only, cooked, roasted
  • 1/4 cupRaisins, seedless
  • 2/3 cupSalad dressing, mayonnaise, soybean and safflower oil, with salt

  • 1 cupCream, sour, cultured

  • 2 tspSpices, curry powder
  • 2 tspCornstarch
  • 1/2 tspSalt, table

  • 8 sheetPhyllo dough
  • 1/2 cupButter, with salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit.

2. Steam spinach for 2 to 3 minutes. Drain very well and cool.

3. Mix together remaining filling ingredients. Stir in spinach.

4. Place one sheet of phyllo on an ungreased cookie sheet. Keep remaining phyllo under a damp towel to keep moist.

5. Brush phyllo sheet with melted butter. Put on 3 more sheets and brush with butter. Place another sheet crosswise on top of the first 4 sheets and brush with butter. Top with remaining sheets, going in the same direction as the last sheet, and brush with butter.

6. Spoon filling onto the middle of the phyllo sheets. Bring phyllo sheets up and over filling and shape into a round shape. Make sure phyllo encloses all of the filling. You can twist the top ends of the phyllo dough like a Hershey's Kiss or just leave them lying flat over the top. Brush with remaining butter.

7. Bake for 50 minutes or until golden brown. Cut in wedges to serve.
